Meet the Photographer
Hello! My name is Sarah
I am a professional portrait, lifestyle, and travel photographer focused on high-end visual documentation. At my core, I am an adventurous spirit who loves getting to know people and discovering what they are really about. When I don't have a camera in my hand, you can usually find me traveling, hiking, thrifting for vintage treasures, or immersing myself in all things creative.
My work blends this love for exploration with a clean, editorial lens. Whether I am documenting a narrative on the other side of the world or capturing a creative portrait session right here at home, I approach every shoot with deep curiosity and a genuine fascination with human stories. My goal is to capture authentic connection with a distinct, cinematic edge that leaves you feeling completely empowered.
How I Got Here
My joy for documenting the world started early. As a child, my must-have item for every family vacation and new adventure was a simple disposable camera. By high school, I was constantly purchasing National Geographic travel issues, and scrolling for hours on Tumblr, falling in love with aesthetic travel photos, creative portraiture, and photographic storytelling, journaling about dreams of traveling the world as a photojournalist.
After graduating from university with a degree in peace studies, that curiosity about human stories led me to live and work in Vietnam and Costa Rica teaching English. When the 2020 pandemic brought me home, I pursued a Master’s degree in TESOL, thinking it would be my permanent ticket to working abroad, though I quickly realized it wasn't my true passion. Seeking a way to stay connected to global stories, I relocated to Southern California to work as a case manager at a migrant shelter, eventually transitionsing into public education as both an ESL teacher and a bilingual refugee engagement specialist.
While I dedicated my career to international communities, I subconsciously sought out photography at every turn, constantly documenting my travels, editing visuals, and staying close to the creative world. After years of people complimenting my imagery and asking if I had ever considered doing this professionally, I finally decided to step fully into my purpose and make this lifelong passion my absolute priority.
Driven by Intention. Inspired by Connection.
The vision & values
I share a deeply rooted philosophy passed down by my grandfather: beauty is everywhere. He modeled what it meant to live an intentional life, proving through his own lifestyle and photography that the most profound moments are often the quietest ones. To me, being a great photographer isn’t just about technical skill; it is about an acute talent for noticing, slowing down to witness the details and raw connections that pass others by. It is a commitment to looking closer at the world, finding art in the ordinary, and honoring the stories that unfold right in front of us.
I understand that stepping in front of a lens can feel incredibly vulnerable, which is why my priority is to create an easy, welcoming space ensuring you feel fully seen, empowered, and documented with a timeless, artistic edge. This grounded approach remains identical across all of my work, whether I am shooting a creative portrait, partnering with a brand to organically showcase their unique story, or capturing the raw spirit of a new destination. No matter the setting, my goal is always the same: to deliver imagery that feels entirely genuine, deeply empowering, and beautifully cinematic.
